1. How does synchromatch work?

You simply click the button to launch the searching system called, synchromatch. Synchromatch is a highly sophisticated software system that searches the pool for the person you have requested. It makes sure the person matches your requests for distance from your home, gender preference, and age. The person that matches all of this and the highest number of the desired traits that you have selected in the All About My Match Section will show up as a connection (match) first.

2. How often can I use the synchromatch search function for a new match?

You can press the button to search as often as you like. However, if you already have three matches, you will need to close one before you can search again.

3. How much does it cost to be a member of CafeConnect?

Membership in CafeConnect is FREE for 30 days. After your FREE trial has ended, membership is $9.95 a month.

4. How do I cancel my membership?

We hope this is because you have met your perfect match! If you want to discontinue, you can do that at anytime by going to My Account/My Membership and clicking on Current Status. After cancellation, you will be taken out of the matching pool and you will no longer have access to your matches.

5. If I cancel and come back later, do I have to fill out my blueprint information again?

We retain your information in the system for a limited time. In most cases, you will be required to resubmit my blueprint information including uploading of photos.

6. What if someone uses a picture from 20 years ago, or when they were 50 pounds lighter than now?

We ask that users upload a current photo and the answers to their questions are honest and true. If you find that someone has violated this part of the terms of agreement, may send a complaint to staff at caféconnect dot com and we will look into the issue further. Memberships may be canceled by us if there is a violation of the terms and agreements.

7. What type of people are welcome on CafeConnect?

As long as you are not married and looking for a partner, you are a welcomed member and the chances are good that there will be a suitable match for you. CaféConnect welcomes members who are honest, trustworthy, and upstanding citizens, however, no background check is made and no warrantees are made to this effect.

8. What if I encounter lewd behavior or offensive language?

As a courtesy to members we ask that you keep your conversations clean and appropriate, however, the Message Board is primarily a conversation between you and your match. No other people will view it except random occasional monitoring by CafeConnect staff to insure compliance with the terms and agreements. If you are offended by a member’s language, it is a good sign that you should close this connection and move on. If you feel that a member has violated the terms of agreement you may file a complaint to staff at cafeconnect dot com and the staff will look into the issue. We reserve the right to cancel any members who violate the terms and agreements which includes lewd or offensive behavior or language.

9. My great aunt thinks I am crazy for trying internet dating because she says it is dangerous. Is it dangerous?

Meeting strangers has it’s inherent risks, regardless of whether you meet online or anywhere else. Please read the tips for safe online dating included in the Cool Stories section of our blog. Since CaféConnect is designed for people who are serious about finding a real partner. Persons posing as someone other than themselves or looking merely for a sexual encounter are deterred from our site because of the time investment to answer the blueprint questions. However, we do not and can not offer any guarantees so be sure to proceed slowly and get to know your match by using the message board and reading their blueprint . Remember to always have your first meeting in a public place and never give out personal information until you are comfortable with the integrity of your match.

10. If someone has to go on the internet to find a date, they must be a real loser. What is wrong with the old fashioned way of the chance meeting and sparks flying and then falling in love.

There are many steps to finding a life partner. First you have to meet. This can be done the conventional way; in a bar, at work, at the park, in the grocery store, or at any other social event. But even if you are out and about all the time, it is tricky to meet the right people. You wouldn’t go up to someone at the coffee shop and say, "Excuse me, do you ever want to have kids?" or, do you smoke, drink, are you Lutheran, Catholic, don’t believe? Or are you married or do you ever want to get married? But these are the very questions that you want to know to align yourself with someone who has your same values. This is the benefit of the synchromatch system. Why not get these important questions out of the way and start out on solid ground.

The internet is the perfect way to increase your chances of meeting the right person because those that are unavailable for a relationship are eliminated from the pool. Online, the number of people that are serious about finding a real relationship extends exponentially beyond the places that you can physically visit so you can more easily hone in on the perfect person for you.

11. What if nobody matches with me?

Your matches must meet the criteria you set, ie. Distance from your home, age preference, and gender preference. If no matches show up, you might try extending the age range or just hanging on. New people sign up for CafeConnect every day. If you do not get someone on your first try, be patient. Someone may find you in the near future. You can search as often as you like, but if there is a match out there for you, that person may find you before you find them.You will be sent an email when you have been matched so you can log onto cafeconnect. Be sure to check your email and keep notifications out of your spam box. Your match is likely waiting to hear from you.

12. Who sees my picture and profile?

The only people that see your picture are your matches. Your information is unavailable to anyone else and of course your personal identifying information is never shared with anyone.

13. Can I select the distance my match lives from me?

Yes, you can choose the following, within 25 miles, within 50 miles, within 100 miles, or anywhere in the US

14. Once I match with someone and close the connection, will I be able to match with them again?

No. Once you have matched with someone, you are both tagged so that you won’t match again. So keep this in mind if you close a match.

15. How do I know when I have a match?

You can check your My Connections page to find your matches. Also, an email will be sent to you when a match is made. You can then login to the My Connections page and click on the Meet at the Café button to learn more about your match and post messages.

16. What information will my match have access to?

Your match will be able to view all the answers you made in your Blueprint, Interests, view your photos, and your username.

17. What if I am not interested in the person I have matched with?

If at anytime, you decide you are not interested in your match, you may close the connection. This will permanently terminate all communication with the match. You will both be tagged so that you will not be re-matched in the future.

18. What if I meet someone and want to temporarily take myself out of the matching pool, can I do that?

Yes, deactivating is as simple as clicking a button. Just go to My Account/My Membership Preferences and change the last question: Currently Available for Matches to NO. This will suspend your ability to be matched and give you some time to get to know your new match. If you are ready to reconnect, simply change this to YES.

19. If I choose everything I want, then I will get someone just like me. I might be bored. I thought opposites attract.

The CafeConnect matching system works to find the person that matches your core value system. Just because you share the same values, does not mean you are carbon copies of each other. The system does not pretend to assume that you will have chemistry or compatibility with your match. This is best determined by a meeting in person. But you will be rest assured that the partnership is off to a solid start.
